Trinity College
Trinity College Library and Book of Kells is a must see when in Dublin.
The Book of Kells is Ireland's greatest cultural treasure and the world's most famous medieval manuscript. The Book of Kells contain the four gospels of the New Testament and the illustrations and ornamentation are outstanding.
The main room of the library in Trinity College is the Long Room built between 1712 and 1732.
This room houses a vast array of the Library’s oldest books from floor to ceiling.
Two of the four volumes are on public display, one opened to a major decorated page and the other to a typical page of text. The volumes and pages shown are regularly changed.
Take a stroll through the cobbled stones of the campus to the Douglas Hyde Modern Art Gallery in the Arts Building.
